Celebrating 65th Years Of Vietnam – Indonesia Diplomatic Relations

Special Friendship Between President Ho Chi Minh and President Soekarno

On 30 December 1955, historic diplomatic relations were established between Indonesia and Vietnam. This relationship began with a friendship between two great presidents of each country, namely President Ho Chi Minh and President Soekarno. Since then, the two countries have held numerous events to promote connection, strengthen political trust, consolidate the friendship and foster substantial cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia.

This year marks the 65th year since this special relationship began. A documentary was made to highlight the friendship between two presidents and the two countries entitled “Viet Nam Indonesia Relationship”

2020 Indonesia-Vietnam Photography Exhibition

This photo exhibition was held to commemorating 65 years of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia. The exhibition was held in Yogyakarta and Bali in December 2020 and was opened by Megawati Soekarnoputri, former Indonesian President. The exhibition features hundreds of photos about President Ho Chi Minh and President Soekarno’s visits to each other and important milestones during the 65-year journey of the bilateral relations.

SEIZING TRADE, INVESTMENT AND TOURISM
OPPORTUNITIES IN VIET NAM AND INDONESIA

On 18th November 2020, The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Jakarta, Indonesia and the Indonesia – Viet Nam Friendship Association hosted a Webinar entitled “Seizing Trade, Investment and Tourism Opportunities in Viet Nam and Indonesia amid the COVID-19 pandemic” to provide information on policies of Government of Viet Nam and Government of Indonesia in response to the impact of the pandemic for the purpose of economic recovery as well as economic and tourism cooperation. The Webinar was attended by nearly 150 participants online.

Logo Competition Winner Announcement

On 1 – 31 July 2020, the Vietnamese Embassy in Jakarta and the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi jointly organized a logo competition to raise awareness about the diplomatic relations that have been nurtured and developed by generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries.

In this logo competition, participants are required to design a logo that demonstrates the 65 years of the diplomatic relations between the two countries as well as reflects Viet Nam and Indonesia’s strategic partnership and cooperation. The competition attracted 772 entries from all over Viet Nam and Indonesia.

The winning logo was designed by Mr. Tran Hoai Duc from Viet Nam.  The design depicts an innovative combination of the two legendary birds: Lac bird of Viet Nam and Garuda of Indonesia, symbolic of the long history and aspiration for peace and prosperity of the two nations. The use of the countries’ flags symbolizes hope, warmth, and energy in the two countries’ bilateral relations.
