This was an opportunity for the contestants to show off their oratory talents, argumentation skills and passion for the Indonesian language and culture.
Launched more than a month earlier, the “Speech Contest and Indonesian Singing Contest” organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in coordination with the Consulate General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City has attracted the participation of many young people in the city. They are Indonesian language students and alumni, tour guides, or simply Indonesian language lovers. After the qualifying round, the Organizing Committee has selected 21 outstanding contestants among nearly 50 contestants in both speech and singing to compete in the final round.
In the speech contest, the 10 finalists helped the audience better understand every aspect of the current Indonesia-Vietnam relationship through the following topics: 70 years of Indonesia-Vietnam relations, Strengthening the Indonesia-Vietnam strategic partnership, The role of the younger generation in fostering Indonesia-Vietnam relations, The important role of Indonesia and Vietnam in ASEAN, and so on.
