Jakarta, 1 August 2025 – The Indonesia – Vietnam Friendship Association (IVFA) today convened its annual Members’ Gathering and Forum 2025 under the theme “Resilience & Partnership: Navigating Regional Growth amid Global Uncertainty” at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta. 

 This high-level forum brought together key government officials, business leaders, diplomats, and academics from both countries to foster stronger collaboration in the face of mounting global challenges. The two-hour session served as a platform to promote mutual understanding, share insights on economic strategies, and explore bilateral opportunities between Indonesia and Vietnam. 

In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Chair of the IVFA Executive Committee, underscored the importance of strategic dialogue and people-to-people connections as the foundation of resilient bilateral cooperation. 

Delivering the keynote address, H.E. Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, emphasized the role of economic resilience and inclusive partnerships in ensuring sustainable regional development. He highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Vietnam through trade, investment, and innovation. 

 The panel discussion was officially opened by H.E. Arrmanatha Nasir, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, who reaffirmed the value of regional diplomacy in advancing peace, stability, and prosperity across Southeast Asia. 

Key insights were shared by distinguished panelists: 

  • H.E. Ta Van Thong, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Indonesia, 
  • Mr. Arif Widjaja, Chief Operating Officer of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. 
  • Mr. Vahd Nabyl Achmad Mulachela, Head, Asia Pacific and Africa Regional Policy Strategy Center, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia 

Participants engaged in a dynamic Q&A session, discussing ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and address shared challenges, particularly in the context of global economic headwinds and geopolitical uncertainty. 

The event concluded with a group photo and renewed commitment by IVFA  to serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic engagement between Indonesia and Vietnam.
