MoU signing antara VIFA dan IVFA: On August 23, 2017, Mr. Nguyen Dang Tien, Chairman of the Vietnam-Indonesia Friendship Association (VIFA), and Mr. Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Chairman of the Indonesia-Vietnam Friendship Association (IVFA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and exchanges between the people of Vietnam and Indonesia. The MOU promotes bilateral cooperation in the areas of politics, economy, culture, tourism, and science and technology. The signing ceremony was witnessed by government officials from both Indonesia and Vietnam.

Earlier that day, several other MOUs were also signed between Indonesian and Vietnamese companies, including agreements in the fields of aviation (Garuda Indonesia and Vietnam Airlines), coal trading and seaport investment (Intra Asia Indonesia and Hong Phat Group), and education (President University of Indonesia and Dong A University of Vietnam).
